Author Stephen Kelman visits Heartlands!

On Friday 5th February we hosted author Stephen Kelman. Some of our students study his book ‘Pigeon English‘ in Year 10 and they were very excited to meet him and ask him questions, along with some Year 9s who will be reading the book next academic year.

Mr Barker from the English Dept acted as Question Master and facilitated discussion through some amazing questions from the floor. Stephen was very impressed with the student’s behaviour & insightful questions. He talked openly and authentically about his background, his writing & this book in particular.
